It’s not a dream. It’s Cappadocia.
Meticulously crafted by the nature (sculpted by erosion to be exact), Cappadocia offers a spectacular, dream-like atmosphere for its visitors.
Cappadocia is a historical region in Central Anatolia, largely in the Nevşehir, Kayseri, Aksaray, Kırşehir, Sivas and Niğde provinces in Turkey.
The name of the origin derives from old Persian "Katpatuka" which means “the Land of Beautiful Horses”.
The terrain is a natural wonder that is reminiscent of a lunar landscape with its unusual rock formations; there is also another type of “wonder” that has been created by people in the form of underground cities, cave churches and cave living!
Imagine waking up to a fairy tale landscape, with a brilliant sun rising into the bluest of skies while the hot air balloons slowly ascending. This is usually the first sight a visitor has when in Cappadocia, but this is just an introduction to the possibilities and adventures that await one in Cappadocia.
Visit the underground cities: Archaeologists estimate that there to be at least 30 underground dwelling complexes in the area, some connected by tunnels that were built over the millennia, first started by the Hittites around 2,000 B.C.
The underground city that you visit has 8 stories carved into the ground beneath the surface. The spaces are well lit and there is good ventilation; it is interesting to see the living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, stores, churches, etc. but you will need to stop over as the ceilings are low at certain places.
Stay at one of Cappadocia’s world famous cave hotels since Cappadocia is a land of natural wonders and as such there are some unique experiences every traveler should try.
Visitors all around the world come here not only for private hot air balloon tours, ancient pottery workshops, picnics in the terrace gardens facing the Guvercinlik Valley, off-roading safari excursion and wine tasting events but also for romantic get aways and honeymoons.
Journeys by Zee offers you a variety of unique excursion packages that turn your stay into an experience of a lifetime, in the land that has witnessed the rise of the first civilizations.
